VAYCAYCO | MOOLOOLABA
Coastal chic with some serious wow factor on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

JANUARY 2019 | OUR FAMILY OF SIX | 5 NIGHTS
It had been a few years since our last trip to the Sunshine Coast, and our first time staying in Mooloolaba. We were excited to check-in to the Vacayco to experience it firsthand. The first thing the boys saw as we opened the gate was the pool, big tick there with kids!
The Palm House & The Pool House makes up Vacayco, you have the option of renting both properties together, or you can rent them separately with both properties having access to the pool.
Entering at The Palm House, which has an open plan kitchen/living/dining, three guest rooms, main bathroom and laundry, you walk further down the path to the most gorgeous rustic pink gate which opens into the Pool House. This house really has the wow factor; it’s a space you don’t want to leave.
Downstairs consists of the kitchen, dining, living and an outdoor dining area plus another courtyard with the firepit. Upstairs (love the tiles on the stairs) is an open bedroom complete with an ensuite.
We slept in the Palm House but hung out in the Pool House.
Every room is styled for that holiday feeling. The Palm House is light-filled with a fresh coastal style while The Pool House has dramatic dark exteriors and New York loft-style interiors. A big plus in my eyes is the linen bedding.
There is so much to love about Vacayco. From the pool and The Pool House to the fantastic SMEG oven … we decided to make homemade pizzas one night so that we can use it.
Most of all, the memories we made relaxing around the pool, and a new friend in the owner Hannah. The Sunshine Coast has definitely won our hearts.
Everything was within a 10 to 15-minute walk, often jumping on the complimentary bikes to explore. The Velo Project for breakfast is a must, so is the walk up to Mooloolaba for a jump in the ocean, the water was like a bath, which is just how I like it!
