A gorgeous coastal getaway with a timeless design in laid-back Byron Bay.

Location & Timeless Design

First Impressions

I remember when Bask & Stow first opened, I walked past in awe. So, to say I was excited to stay here was an understatement. Vinnie, the amazing manager, made our stay even more enjoyable with the service we received from the time we booked in, to the moment we left.

The House

Bask & Stow consists of four suites and the main house. We stayed in the main house, which in one word is stunning! The house is an original federation cottage that has been restored with a minimalist design. Perfect for our family of six, there are three bedrooms, two and a half bathrooms and a full kitchen with a dining room by the side.

The Styling

Every room is styled for that holiday feeling – think Bauhaus meets relaxed coastal living. The styling also celebrates local designers, so it really does have that authentic, barefoot luxe vibes that we all love about Byron.

We loved

One of the things we loved the most about the house is the living spaces. There is a media room (great for the kids) and several lounging areas around the house. Which is great for families and groups, as holidays are a time to come together but, at the same time, you want to be able to have your own space. My favourite place was to sit was the built-in lounge that overlooked the rear of the property with a view of my favourite thing, palm trees!

The Neighbourhood

The location of the property is ideal. Positioned in what is called the golden grid of Byron. The Top Shop is a couple of doors up from the house; it’s a café with amazing fresh produce that is quite iconic to the town. It is a 5-minute walk to the main street where you will find some of my favourite restaurants and cafes. Make sure you head to Bayleaf Café for breakfast and to The Mez Club for an ink gin.

Byron Bay’s lifestyle is all about the beach, and you are seriously spoilt for choice. An easy stroll to Clarkes Beach and only a few minutes further to “The Pass”, which is one of the most iconic surf points in Australia. The walk to The Lighthouse on the boardwalk is a fave thing to do, with a dip in the ocean at what is my favourite beach, Wategos.

When you can pull yourself away from relaxing on the front veranda, a short drive, you will find so many places to visit. A trip to Brunswick Heads is always fun, with the boys and Ben jumping off the bridge. I love the town in Bangalow with some great cafes and one of my favourite brands, Bisque Traders, a gorgeous store. A visit to The Farm never disappoints. The kids and adults love to watch the pigs rolling in the mud and cracking open the macadamia nuts.

Bask & Stow, we will be back … hopefully child-free and experience the suites.
